Before and After Retouching

A raw image is never the finished product and is just the starting point. I believe it to be a necessary skill for photographers to provide it in their service. The time spent on retouching creates a much more refined result that you’ll definitely notice. Some elements that I make sure to touch on within the editing process includes but isn’t limited to:

Skin cleanup, skin tone fixing

wardrobe cleanup (lint removal, crease removal, hair removal, etc)

teeth, lips

color grading

background cleanup

contrast & lighting touchups

eye enhancement

photo composites

This is a normal process that I go through with every single image I deliver and is something that I enjoy doing. I make sure to correct every small detail while keeping the subject looking as they are. These images are high quality and can be printed to very large sizes.

That being said I do my best to make sure everything is done right in camera so not to spend unnecessary time correcting things that should’ve been watched out for during the session. My goal with each image is to make sure the image is refined but looks like it hasn’t been retouched.

Before and After Examples

Below are some examples of what the final image looks like before any editing/ retouching is done (raw). This is shown so clients have a better understanding of what happens during the retouching process. Some photographers offer only “edited” images which would be just basic adjustments such as brightness, color, contrast, etc.
